 Mandate of the Laboratory:

 Our Dairy Research Center at INTI, acts in the voluntary field   giving technical assistance and training to laboratories in the
 residue /pesticide analysis, method validation, quality assurance of the
 results. We also contribute with the National Monitoring
 Programme of our country.

 Role in the farm-to-fork chain:

 To monitor pesticide residues in dairy products and checking
 compliance with the regulation.

 National Reference Laboratory:

 The food control system in Argentina is responsibility of SENASA
 Servicio Nacional de Sanidad Alimentaria, under the authority of   the Agriculture Ministry. They authorize laboratories in the country   to perform the national monitoring program , those laboratories   belong to a network. We are authorized by the national regulation   body (SENASA) to perform some residue analysis (antibiotics,   pesticides). 

 On the other hand we give technical assistance to the other
 laboratories or this network in our metrological role (providing
 proficiency tests,  training, etc). One of the laboratories of the
 Dairy Research Center is the national reference laboratory for milk
 composition analysis.

 Type of contaminants analysed:

 Organochlorine and organophosphorous pesticides in foods and
 environmental samples. Carbamates and pyretroids in foods.
 
 Organochlorine: Hexachlorobenzene, Endosulfane I, Endosulfane
 II, Endosulfane Sulfate, α-HCH, β- HCH, ϒ-HCH,d-HCH, op-DDE, pp-   DDE, op DDD, pp DDD, Dieldrin, Aldrin, Heptachlor, Heptachlor-exo-   epoxide (cis-, isomer B), Heptachlor-endo-epoxide (trans-, isomer   A), cis-Chlordane (alpha), trans-Chlordane (gamma), oxy-   Chlordane, Mirex.

 Organophosphorous: Sulfotep, Methyl Parathion, Methyl   Pirimiphos, fenitrothion, ethyl pirimiphos, Carbophenothion, Diazinón,   Ronnel, Malathion, Ethyl parathion, Ethion, Clorphirifos, Methyl   Clorphirifos, Bromophos Methyl, Chlorfenvinphos, Dioxathion,   Fenthion, Isofenphos, Bromophos Ethyl, Methidathion.

 Carbamates: Aldicarb, Aldicarb Sulfone, Aldicrab, Sulfoxide,
 Carbaryl, Carbofuran, 3-OH-Carbofuran.

 Matrices analysed:

 High fat content food, honey, water, cereal flour, environmental
 samples (soil, waste water) human milk.

 Combination matrices and
 contaminants analysed:

 Milk, water, waste water, cereals, flour, soil, lanolin:   Organochlorine and organophosphorous pesticides.
 Human milk: Organochlorine pesticides
 Honey: Carbamates.

 Description of validated method used:

 For milk:
 QuEChERS method ISO-IDF 3890-2 modified by INTI- dairy for
 Organochlorine and organophosphorous pesticides.
 ISO 3890-1:2009(E). IDF 75-1:2009(E). AOAC modified by INTI-
 dairy in Organochlorine and organophosphorous pesticides.

 For Honey:
 QuEChERS method ISO-IDF 3890-2 modified by INTI-dairy in
 carbamates.
