 Mandate of the Laboratory:

 Generate, guide and disseminate knowledge about the
 environmental problematic, to support decision-making in
 favour of sustainable development of the country, through
 lines of action established as research, environmental
 monitoring, chemicals management and service delivery. 

 Role in the farm-to-fork chain:

 CESCCO is an environmental laboratory.

 Pesticides, residues and heavy metals
 Physicochemical and special analysis (cations and anions)
 Bacteriological analysis
 Ecotoxicological
 Atmospheric analysis

 Matrices analysed:

 Drinking water, fresh water, sewage water, soil, sediment
 and tissues (vegetable, animal, biological), dielectric oil.
 Particles
 Food (non processed and processed) from animal and
 vegetable origin, raw material. 

 Combination matrices and
 contaminants analysed:

 Organochlorine pesticides in Drinking water, fresh water,
 sewage water, soil, sediment and tissues.
 
 Drinking water, fresh water, sewage water:
 acidity, alkalinity, oils and fats, ammonium, calcium, total
 and free chlorine, chloride, and true apparent colour,
 conductivity, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen
 demand, hardness, fluoride, total phosphorus, nitrite, nitrate,
 ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen, orthophosphate, dissolved
 oxygen, hydrogen potential, salinity, total dissolved solids,
 sedimentable solids, total suspended solids, total solids,
 sulfates, turbidity, temperature, heavy metals.

 Drinking water, fresh water, sewage water, recreational
 water: precipitating iron bacteria, sulfate-reducing, Candida
 albicans, thermotolerant coliforms, total coliforms,
 enterococci, Escerichia coli, fecal streptococci, fungi and
 yeast, worm eggs, aerobic emsofilos, Pseudomonas
 Aeruginosa, Salmonella, Shigella, Staphylococci Aureus,
 Vibrio Cholera.
 
 Food (non processed and processed) from animal and
 vegetable origin, raw material, surface and swabbing of
 hands: Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens, total coliforms,
 Escherichia coli, aerobic mesophilic, total count of fungi and
 yeast, Salmonella, Shigella, Staphylococci aureus, Vibrio 
 Cholera,

 Fresh water, sewage water:
 bioassay with Daphnia magna acute toxicity, chronic toxicity
 bioassay with Selenastrum Capricornutum

 Particles:
 PM10, PM 2.5, Suspended Total particles, Nitrogen dioxide,
 Personal exposure.

 Description of validated method used:

 Organochlorine pesticides in water
 For the other analysis we are performing quality assurance.
